Wooden Award presented by Wendy’s as the most outstanding player in women’s college basketball. The announcement was made during ESPN SportsCenter. When the 2023-23 college basketball season tips off on Monday (Memphis at Vanderbilt headlines Day 1 — get excited!) the race for the men’s national player of the year will also begin.It's the just about the highest honor a college basketball player can receive and only two players in its history have ever won it multiple times: Bill Walton (1973-74) and Ralph Sampson (1981-83) So with the semifinalists being announced soon, here's a breakdown of the front-runners for the award.
