BioSciences at Rice is home to undergraduate and doctoral degree programs in Biochemistry & Cell Biology and Ecology & Evolutionary Biology. We also participate in multidisciplinary degree programs in Biological Science, Environmental Science, and Neuroscience, as well as professional science master’s programs.The graduate program in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology spans >40 faculty across campus guiding students from the Departments of Plant Biology-Microbiology and Biology at the University of Oklahoma. "EEBies" study a wide variety of taxa, from the archaea to fungi, from algae to insects, from grasses to mammals.The B.S. program is designed for students planning to attend medical or veterinary school or to pursue graduate study in ecology and evolutionary biology, other biological disciplines, or the environmental sciences. The department offers courses with no college-level prerequisites that are suitable for nonmajors.
