The most exciting part of every Fall, in a tradition that goes back to the mists of time (three years, actually), is watching the new HASTAC Scholars who have been chosen from among all the other possible candidates and nominated by their institutions. This year it is a bit overwhelming in its wonder.The HASTAC Scholars Program began in 2008 with a small pilot program, and has proven to be an amazingly energetic and successful program. Each scholar receives a small fellowship for their contribution, funded by their home institution. Our HASTAC Scholars operate on a 10-month schedule, from August to May. We hold monthly meetings, with exceptions for Thanksgiving and Winter break when necessary.
