Math 220

Course Details Course Code: MATH220 Course ID: 4538 Credit H

Abstract. We review some recent results concerning the symmetric algebraic matrix Riccati equation and especially its hermitian solutions. The main idea is description of such solutions in terms of invariant subspaces of a certain matrix, which is self-adjoint in an indefinite scalar product. Some new results on this subject are presented as well.Introduction to Linear Algebra: Row operation, matrix algebra; vector spaces, orthogonality, Gram-Schmidt orthogonalization, projections, linear transformations and their matrix representations, rank, similarity; determinants; eigenvalues, eigenvectors, and least squares. Pre-requisite (s) MATH& 152 min 2.0 Course Note Math& 153 recommended.Spring 2022. Mathematical Reasoning and Proof. Listed in: Mathematics and Statistics, as MATH-220.
