Nice car, fun in it's own way, but the driving experience an MR2 provides is vastly more entertaining. With the 1mz/3mz hybrid motor (headers, intake exhaust,pulleys) i ran a 14.3 at 96.5mph in a 1997 camry! A 4psi TRD s/c camry would be hard pressed to hit a 14.8 with those mods. Through my engine builder's and my evaluations on the 1MZ-FE block, we think that the sleeves on the 1MZ-FE block are actually pretty strong. It has a closed deck design and has thick sleeves (at stock bore) that are plenty for making great power.
