ARs are much lighter and minimum 16” barrel makes more sense for 5.56 caliber, but the Galil will also treat you well with acceptable accuracy and velocity from a 13” CHF barrel. It’ll just be heavy as fuck compared to an AR. Galil ACE Gen 2 would be made better with a KNS plastic delete kit, and a better trigger if you're so inclined. SAM7SF could use a trigger job, or new trigger. Either way they're great rifles that would benefit from a KNS piston (if it feels overgassed, or you plan on suppressing it),and a great feeling trigger. Just my thoughts.AR stock buffer tube.
