I was 1cm at 28, 2 cm at my next appointment then from there I don't remember when I hit 3 cm but it was with in 1 to 2 appointments so 34 to 36 weeks, somewhere in there.

The first stage of labor includes early labor, also known as the latent phase, and active labor. Stage one involves cervical dilation and effacement of the cervix. Dilation is when the opening in your cervix widens, and effacement is the thinning and softening of your cervix. Once the cervix is 6 cm dilated, your body moves into the active phase.If your cervix is very thick, not as great. If it's nice and thin it might be better. BUT cervixes can thin out very quickly with nice contractions. We call this effacement (and we usually measure it in a percent — so they'll say your cervix is 50% effaced). Honestly, anything less than about 70% is still pretty thick.Like. t. most people seem to report having active labor start within a week of losing their plug, that's probably where that's coming from!
