Honda accord whining noise when starting
I have the same problem. Bought a used 2011 Honda Accord with 49K miles in November 2015. Found out it has the VTC actuator issue. Googled it and found Honda issued 1st TSB that cover 2008-2009 Accord in 2011. Then on Oct 6, 2012 Honda issued the second TSB that covers 2007-1012 Accords - all on VTC actuator issue.Remove the belt and start the engine. Check if you still hear the whining. 1 Like. A Honda ps pump has many seals that can harden & crack. Honda brand fluid contains seal conditioners. So almost every time I cold (as in overnight cold) start my car in the morning, I would turn the key, start the car, and hear this grinding/squealing noise for 2 seconds, then it stops.
